Chef Question…About Wusthof Knives..Please help!!?
I’m wanting to get a set of Wusthof Knives for an upcoming chef.
(1) I need to know the real difference between the Wusthof lines..,like the “Classic” and “Culinar”…and etc. Which is the best? Which one would you get or prefer?
(2) I know a great chef only buys open stock…but can you buy like a block set and not use the block (I know the block is not good to use)…would it be cheaper to buy a block set and not use the block, or just buy them individually??
(3) I also found this 8 Pc. Chef’s Attache Set, http://www.cutleryandmore.com/details.asp?SKU=6986
Is there a real difference to buy this and not buy them individually?? Which is better??
Please let me know which one you would get…Should I buy that 8 Pc. Set?? Thank you!!!!
Please answer all questions. No rude answers please. Thank you!!!
To a Chef Knives are an extension of themselves, their tools, the vehicles to assist them to produce a finished product. Every Chef is different and has personal preferences on which tools they need.
Bottom line, though you have great enthusiasm and wish to present the best, I suggest you don’t, instead present a monetary gift certificate from a well known cooking supply company (http://www.chefscatalog.com/brand/wusthof.aspx) and let your Chef decide for them self. (I wouldn’t buy a curling iron for a woman or a Knife for a Chef).
