Knife Block

knife block

What Knife am I missing out of my knife block?

I have what I believe might be a vintage wood knife set, which I purchased at an estate sale. In one of the knife holes was a black, plastic handled, non-matching knife.

The rest of the knives are labeled (engraved) on the handles as follows: Slicer, Fillet, Utility, Boning, Chef, and Sharpener. It also included a Knife Sharpener.

There is no brand marked anywhere on the block or knives. The blade is marked “Molybdenum Vanadium Stainless” and underneath that, “Japan.”

The knife handles and the block are a light colored wood. The handles have 3 brads each and the knives all have a full tang.

If you have this knife set, can you please tell me which knife I am missing?

Thanks!

I can’t tell you which knife you’re missing, but vintage knives are not made of molybdenum with labeled handles. Enjoy your knives, I hope they’ll hold an edge.
