Alan Wood Damascus Closeup

Hi everyone ,

I’m looking to buy a new Bushcraft Knife and i really like the “Woodlore ” knife design by Alan Wood and obviously they are not available anymore. I don’t care about having the Ray Mears logo but i do want the same design (birds eye maple handle , o1 carbon steel etc) and would REALLY appreciate any help you can give me finding the knife , i have tried to contact alan wood directly to have one made with no joy , so any good knife maker will do i currently use a martiinni finland “condor” which is a great knife with a fantastic blade but really want a knife for life and it isnt carbon steel , its a special alloy only martiinni make allegidly , but still really strong and durable , sharpens to a great edge and keeps it . i also use a gransfors small forest axe which i think is fantastic . any help is appreciated guys thanks. – Will McGregor

Knives are still available, you need to contact Woodlore and asked to be added to the waiting list.
Alan is still making knives but the waiting list is now quite long. The SWC blades are a very good copy of the Woodlore blades but they will not be an investment like a genuine Woodlore.
